NPCs are finished player-created characters placed into the OC NPC Playground scene. The creator’s public description says to make a character with Create, finish it, and use Spawn so it can interact with other characters. It also says players cannot directly talk to their own NPCs. This hub separates that confirmed loop from details that still need live testing, including the base spawn limit, deletion controls, response timing, memory, and cross-player behavior.
Choose the NPC task you need
How to spawn NPCs
Move from a finished character record to one confirmed NPC, then recover from selection, validation, loading, or capacity problems.
OperationHow NPC interactions work
Understand what the creator confirms, what current community scenes demonstrate, and which behavior claims remain unknown.
BehaviorNPC spawn limit
Read the known VIP percentage correctly without inventing the base cap, purchase tiers, rounding, or server ownership rules.
CapacityConfirmed NPC flow
Create a character from the top-left control, add the appearance and written context you need, complete the record, then select it and use Spawn. Once the NPC appears, pair it with another character and watch the interaction. These are the stable steps named by the creator; the exact locations of selection, finish, remove, and respawn controls are not documented in public text.
Start with a small cast. One NPC proves that the record can spawn. Two NPCs make a relationship readable. A third can add a witness, rival, authority, or missing clue. Adding many characters before you understand the first pair makes it difficult to identify loading delays, accidental duplicates, or capacity limits.
Observe interactions without claiming an algorithm
The creator says characters can interact with other characters. Recent public player posts show people using the game for cross-character and OC scenes, which supports the observed use case. They do not reveal how the system chooses a speaker, how long context lasts, whether NPCs remember earlier scenes, or whether behavior is identical across servers.
Build a clear setup, note the date and session conditions, and describe what happened rather than why the hidden system produced it. A single scene can demonstrate an outcome under those conditions; it cannot prove a universal rule. The interaction guide provides a compact observation format.
Manage a scene cleanly
Give every spawned character a different large visual cue and a different present goal. Spawn them in a known order and wait between actions. If the live interface provides a remove, delete, or despawn control, verify the target before using it. Public information does not confirm whether removing a live NPC deletes the saved character record, so read the current warning carefully.
Use private or quiet sessions when possible. The creator heavily encourages private servers, although Roblox’s Games API reported creation unavailable on August 13. Check the private server guide for the current conflict and safe alternatives.
Understand capacity correctly
Roblox’s public pass data confirms a VIP Benefits pass whose description says it provides 25% extra maximum spawnable NPCs and stacks with purchases. It does not publish the base maximum, what purchases are available, how percentages round, whether limits are per player or server, or whether capacity survives a new session.
Do not calculate an exact VIP cap by guessing the base. Do not confuse the Roblox experience’s 16-player server capacity with spawned NPC capacity. They measure different things. Open NPC Spawn Limit for a responsive known-versus-unknown index before spending Robux.
Troubleshoot in a useful order
If the NPC does not appear, first confirm the character is finished and selected. Wait for one spawn request to resolve. Read visible warnings. Then check whether another NPC can spawn and whether reducing the live cast changes the result. Rejoin only after you record what happened, because a rejoin can clear the evidence that distinguishes a validation problem from a session problem.
If the wrong NPC appears, stop spawning and identify the selected record. Use distinctive temporary names or appearances while testing. If duplicates appear, use only a clearly labeled live removal control; do not assume deleting a saved character is required.
If interactions are unclear, reduce the cast to two and strengthen their shared subject. If no direct conversation control appears, remember that the creator says players cannot talk to their own NPCs. This is not a spawn failure.
Safety and privacy
Treat player-created text and scenes as public multiplayer content. Do not place account credentials, real addresses, school details, private conversations, or another person’s identifying information in lore. Do not install executors or modified clients that claim to raise limits or control NPC speech. Legitimate passes and server options appear through Roblox.
If another player creates offensive content, use the safety and reporting options available through Roblox and leave the session when necessary. This guide does not promise a particular moderation response or filter behavior because those live details are not published for this experience.
Current evidence boundary
Officially confirmed: Create, appearance, lore, backstory, Spawn, character interaction, no direct player-to-own-NPC talk, and the VIP 25% capacity bonus wording. Needs live testing: selection order, mandatory fields, save persistence, despawn and delete behavior, base cap, purchase tiers, rounding, response timing, memory, proximity, ownership, cross-player influence, and filtering details.
For a stronger cast, use Characters. For scene structures, use Ideas. For dated public status rather than mechanics, check Updates.
